Ryukyu Daigaku (University of Okinawa)
Whoa its been awhile for an update..
Anyways its been 2 weeks since ive started my student life in Okinawa.
Since I came late, I had to rush to do all the registering, applying, paying, shopping for necessities, and other bullshit.
It took me 17 hrs total to finally reach Okinawa around midnight local time. I was then made to write a Japanese knowledge exam the very next morningc yes
Heres some highlights of Okinawa so far:
School
l I was put into the mid-advanced jap classes and I must say its pretty challenging.
l Im fine with speech but super behind with writing n reading characters. (I really wish I was Chinese sometimes)
l Theres about 120 foreign students studying at ryukyu university
l Ive gotten to know about 20 of them who are in the same classes as me
l They r from all over the world. Usa, panama, peru, brazil, Bolivia, argentina, columbia, france, spain, swiss, czech, sweden, russia, latvia, africa, thai, malaysia, china, taiwan, korea, hawaii, n mainland japan
l Its funny listening to the europeans argue about whos better in hockey. The Czech n Swedish guys get pretty heated over it too. But when I join the group they cant say shit to me coz they know Canada is no.1 hahahaha go Canada go!!!!
Dorms
l Although I kinda expected, I didnft expect the dorms to be so dirty, small, noisy.
l Im currently living in the ghetto of all ghettos
l My dorm reminds me of some sleazy motel on the corner of east hasting n main st in east Vancouver.
l I guess its what u get when u fill a building full of guys who are lazy, too busy to clean, n never have lived on their own before.
l BUT the people that live in the dorms are super duper cool ppl n everyones friendly/helpful.
l The girls dorms are right beside us but fenced of with barbed wire.
l Ill find a way to sneak in there some how..
l Girls can come to the guys dorms anytime so I guess it doesnft really matter..hehe
Okinawa life
l Must say my life in Okinawa so far is fuckin awesome
l The people are so friendly n generous.
l Theres a crystal blue ocean white sand beach always within a 10min car ride
l Things r cheap unlike Tokyo
l Free time is spent partying, swimming, drinking, karaoke, playing sports, shopping, meeting/chilling with friends
l The heat is hard to get used too but it makes the girls wear tanks, booty shorts, which results in lots of skin so im not complaining
my crib

yesterday was my last shift at sammy Jfs. it was a great job, n ill miss it. It was great knowing that u get to see hot ladies every time u work. It was a sweet finish drinking beer with my co-workers watching some uni ball. Go UNC!!!
